How to Choose the Right Jetting Machine for your Business

The best place to start when deciding which jetting machine is right for you is by looking at your business as it is now. Think about the jobs you actually do most often, the size of the drains you usually work on, how much room you have in your van, whether you usually work on your own or with someone else, and whether access is ever a challenge on site.

Once you break it down like that, choosing the right jetting machine becomes much more straightforward, because you are choosing based on how you really work day to day.

If you mainly work on 4” and 6” drains

If most of your work is focused on 4-inch and 6-inch drains, our 3008 range is usually the best place to start. These machines are built for the type of day-to-day drainage work many engineers are doing all the time, giving you strong, reliable performance without stepping into a larger commercial setup that you may not actually need.

From there, it really comes down to how you work and what matters most to you.

If you want a good all-rounder

If you want a good all-round jetting machine, our 3008 Standard Jetting Machine is a strong place to start. It delivers 3000psi at 8 gallons per minute, is powered by a Honda GX630 petrol engine with a Speck pump and gearbox, and comes with a 250-litre water tank, 60 metres of 3/8" high-pressure hose, 50 metres of 1/2" inlet hose and a built-in antifreeze system. It also has an emergency stop, electric key start and a straightforward on-machine operating setup, which helps keep things simple and practical for everyday use.

For many customers, this is the machine that gives them the best balance. It is ideal for the domestic market, while still being versatile enough for many commercial jobs with the right nozzles. It is also compact enough to work well in a van-based setup without becoming overcomplicated. If you want a dependable van mounted jetting machine that can cover a wide range of regular work, this is often the one we point people towards first.

If you often work on your own

If you regularly work alone, our 3008 Hardwire Jetting Machine is well worth considering. It offers the same 3000psi at 8 gallons per minute as the standard 3008, again using a Honda petrol engine, Speck pump and gearbox, but with the added benefit of our hardwire remote system. This setup includes a 50-metre extension reel, a foot pedal and emergency stop,

The reason customers choose the Hardwire is convenience. It allows you to operate the machine from up to 50 metres away, which means you can stay closer to the mouth of the drain or work around the back of a property without constantly going back and forth to the van. For one-man operation, that can make a big difference to how manageable and efficient a job feels on site.

If space in the van matters

If van space is tight, our Compact Jetting Machine is the option that will make the most sense for a lot of engineers. It gives you the same 3000psi / 8gpm performance as our other 3008 machines, but in a smaller format with a 180-litre water tank and a 200kg dry weight.

If you need to leave plenty of room for other tools and equipment, this machine gives you a powerful setup without taking over the whole van. The lower weight also helps if you are conscious of payload, vehicle wear and fuel use, while still giving you a machine that is more than capable of handling regular work on 4” and 6” drains.

If access is the biggest challenge

Sometimes the biggest challenge is not power or flow, but simply getting a machine where it needs to go. If you are regularly working in places where a van cannot get close enough, our Portable Jetting Machine can be the better fit. It delivers 3000psi at 8 gallons per minute, weighs 135kg, comes with a 150-litre tank, 60 metres of high-pressure hose on a portable reel, and has detachable handles to make it easier to manoeuvre.

We designed this machine for jobs in confined spaces or areas that are not accessible by vans, such as underground car parks, office blocks, train stations and large blocks of flats. It can also be used as both a jetting machine and a jet wash machine with a lance, which adds another layer of versatility.

If your work is moving more into commercial drainage

Once your workload starts moving more into commercial drainage, the type of machine you need usually changes. More demanding jobs often need more water flow, a longer hose and a setup that is designed for bigger pipework and longer runs. That is where the 3012 Jetting Machine comes in. It delivers 3000psi with 12 gallons per minute of flow, is diesel powered, and comes with 90 metres of 1/2-inch jetting hose. It is particularly well suited to commercial cleaning and descaling work on 9 inch pipework where a bigger machine makes a real difference.

This is the machine for businesses that are starting to move beyond mainly domestic work and need something with more commercial capability behind it. If you are finding that the jobs on the diary are getting bigger, heavier or more demanding, the 3012 gives you that next step up without jumping straight to the very top end of the range. It is a sensible move for engineers whose business is evolving and who need their equipment to evolve with it.

If you are regularly working on 9” drains and above

Our 4012 Jetting Machine is our largest and most heavy-duty machine, built for engineers who spend most of their time carrying out commercial drainage work. With 4000psi at 12gpm, 90 metres of 1/2" high-pressure hose, a diesel Kioti engine and a variable-speed hydraulic reel, it is designed for long runs, larger pipework and more demanding jobs where extra performance makes a real difference.

This machine is particularly well suited to engineers regularly working on 9" drains and above. It comes equipped with the features you would expect from a serious commercial setup, including built-in antifreeze, a low-water cut-out, return valve, water filter, variable throttle and a clear sight glass. If you need serious jetting power from a van-mounted jetting machine, the 4012 is built to deliver it.
